Plans Are MadeTo Be Broken

One thing is for sure, that if we try and make plans....they always change. Kendall had a plan yesterday to be in and out at the doctors office and then to do some things around the apartment. Well, after spending all morning checking her blood, she was a few quarts low again. Back to the infusion center where she received another 2 units of blood and 6 units of platelets. I think everyone had the same idea....because the hospital was packed. After it was all said and done, it was about 1:30am when we got back to the apartment. We did watch a movie while we were there, but mostly listened to the tv from the other room because it was so loud. It wasn't so bad except that it was in a foreign language and we couldn't understand it.

Kendall has slept most of the day today. She has eaten a little but not much. Me, I haven't done to much except clean up. I can't stop cleaning. I know, Tammy probably wishes I was home while I'm in cleaning mode. Who knows, it may carry over a few weeks.

2 Corinthians 1:12
Now this is our boast: Our conscience testifies that we have conducted ourselves in the world, and especially in our relations with you, in the holiness and sincerity that are from God. We have done so not according to worldly wisdom but according to God's grace.

As I continue to learn about my growing relationship with God, I strongly believe that with His help, my plans will always be changing...... for God's grace.

  1. Happy Thursday TK,

So, another long hospital day. They can really be so exhausting. Hoping that today is better. Maybe with the new blood, Kendall can help you with your new found passion-cleaning.

Today's quote..."Adapt to every situation. If you fall in a mud puddle, check your pockets for fish." - Unknown

My bet is that Kendall or Daryl (or both) touched someone's heart (or had theirs touched) during yesterday's hospital venture. You never know who might be inspired, given hope or set steady just by watching. That's the way I want to think about it.

Someone said to me recently that we all long for life without difficulties. But we must remember that oaks are made strong in contrary winds and diamonds are formed under pressure. The end result is going to be amazing.

Prayers for strength, wisdom and recognizing when we must adapt. Prayers for guidance coupled with a willingness to let God's plan play out. Prayers that each day we try to motivate someone in need, that we are made aware, that we make the effort to help and that the help is accepted in God's name. Thank you for the incredible blessings we have and please, Lord, stand beside us as we navigate through life.

    Lifting you up,
    Randy, Tina and Nicolette

  2. Hey Daryl & all TK: Know that we are all praying for you. Thank you for being a blessing and being used by God. Sorry that we missed you over Thanksgiving. Hopefully we will be well to see you and be around you at Christmas. Glad to read that you got a tree for the apartment. We all miss you. Love Aunt Donna

  3. Friday, Friday, Friday....

    Let's Party!!!

Can you tell Friday is my very favorite day?

Thinking today about how I can make a change in the world. What can I do, how do I act, who can I influence? So...

Today's quote..."Ask what makes you come alive - and go do it. The world needs people who have come alive." - Howard Thurman

Prayers today for opportunities to "come alive." Place before us Lord your choices for our lives, open our eyes to see and recognize your plan, open our minds and hearts to try something different. Show us Lord how to glorify you in each situation, remind us to think of you and what pleasing you really means. Keep us in your holy palm and guide us. Praises, honor and glory to you.

    Lifting you up,
    Randy, Tina and Nicolette
