Back On Course

Ecclesiastes 1:6
The wind blows to the south
and turns to the north;
round and round it goes,
ever returning on its course.

Back on course is where we're at. The last couple of days have been really rough. I last wrote when we were in the emergency room with Kendall. We finally made it back to the apartment about 6:30am that morning. We then had to turn around and go back for another appointment and was there most of that day. Kendall is doing a lot better. I guess you really do need blood, huh. Kendall returned to normal as the blood worked itself back into her body. She has been really tired but has managed to make all the appointments that they have scheduled for her. We go back in the morning to check her blood work and will probably end up having to get blood one more time. She's also scheduled to have a lumbar puncture with chemo. She was able to sleep alot today and I feel like she has almost caught up with it. Her appetite is also getting better as she wanted me to cook tonight, so I did. Taco salad.

We met with a stem cell transplant team today. It was an Introduction to Stem Cell. Kendall thought, great...I feel like we're going to class. And, that's about what it was, several people gave a presentation on stem cell transplant. Wow, there's really a lot there to learn. As of right now, Kendall is not having stem cell transplant but the doctor's felt like we needed to understand a little about it in case Kendall were to have a relapse. It's a long process and takes several months to prepare for it. Better to be ahead in the game so we don't get caught up in a rush again like we did the first time. They gave us a lot of reading material and I'll have to say that I have been doing a little reading on it already.

These last few days have really been hard on Kendall. They've been hard on me. I know they have been hard on Tammy and the rest of the family. But know, we are very thankful to our family and friends who have been supporting us. You really do mean a lot to us and it feels good to know that you are there. Thank you for your continued thoughts and prayers and all that you have done for Kendall. God Bless You, God Bless All Of You.

  2. Hump Day----Hoooray!

Ok, I've spent the last ten minutes trying to spell halleluia (still not sure if its exactly correct)!!! But, Halleluia Glory, Kendall's feeling better!!!!

It's so strange that we can actually feel the down-ness and depression all the way from Houston. But, so it goes - we can also truly experience the excitement when there is good news. My day has been made - thank you Daryl and Kendall.

Today's quote..."It isn't for the moment that you are stuck that you need courage. It's for the long, uphill climb back to sanity and faith and security." - Anne Lindbergh (mother of Lindbergh baby)

Prayers for today's dr appointments and results to be smooth sailing. Shelter this family Lord and keep them grounded in their faith. Thank you for blessing us as witnesses to this adventure. Thank you for the people you put in our paths who inspire us and challenge us by their actions. Be merciful Lord and keep us all under your watchful eye and gentle hand.

    Lifting you up
    Randy, Tina and Nicolette

  3. I knew you had to be feeling better cuz I could tell Chase was in a better mood yesterday. I try not to ask but a couple times a day how you are feeling and what you are having to do that day cuz he gets short with me but he volunteered info about your day and the stem cell transplant so i knew you had a good day also.

Yes, this blood we carry around not thinking much about it and taking it for granted, really means alot and how we function day to day. I pray Kendall for God to cleanse your blood and make it completely whole again.

The suffering you are enduring has been chosen by God and he will reveal his plan for all of it. You are telling us all an amazing story and how to do it God's way. So continue to be strong and know this time will pass.

Chase is going to Kristin and Philips for Kristin's annual Halloween pumpkin carving and going to carve you a pumpkin so enjoy the laugh. (maybe it will be pretty but don't get your hopes up)..

Looking forward to you being home again and getting the home cooking, love and peace that settles all pain.

Love you much and always thinking about you.
    Ms. Patti

  5. Our family has a favorite story on Nicholas when as a little boy he asked to say the blessing at the Getwan Thanksgiving dinner. He was in Mrs. Griffin's class and had certainly learned a lot about Jesus and wanted to share it. He prayed a beautiful prayed down to, "and thank you, Jesus, for the blood in our bodies." I had never really thought how thankful we should all be. In all things give thanks: for Jesus blood and for the blood in our bodies that allow us to serve Him. God Bless you all.
