Looking for Friday

......I cannot find the words to describe the events of today. No matter how I re-word it, it still comes out the same. Today, Kendall began showing some noticeable signs of her battle today. Even though she tried to hide them, they were very visible to me. The fatigue was the biggest one today. I can see it in her eyes, her posture and even her voice. Don't get me wrong, Kendall is still winning, I can just the signs more clearly. We all knew that this is going to be a tough and long fight ahead of her....

...The day started with a minor trip to the doctor for blood work and a lumbar puncture. Once we were there, we weren't able to leave until around 5:00pm. Had a few unscheduled events occur while we were there. But we did get to leave. Kendall was tired the majority of the day as Tammy and me would try and lift her spirit up. All Kendall had to do is think about her visitors coming to see her on Friday and that would bring her up to speed. I know she is excited about seeing everyone. I do hope that she is feeling better so that she can enjoy being around them.

Dinner and movie was about all that was on the agenda tonight. Everyone was off to bed right after the movie so we can start fresh for our visitors tomorrow.

  1. Friday Morning Finally...

I know you guys have been looking forward to today. May the anticipated happiness and joy be topped by the actual feelings.

Well, we all knew the struggle would come and this pathway would not be without trouble. But, here it is, so let's deal with it in Kendall fashion - head on and full steam....

Today's thought... "The way I see it if you want the rainbow you gotta put up with the rain." -Dolly Parton

My prayers are for wonderful family togetherness this weekend, that you get your fill of hugs, kisses and smiles to last until the next trip; that you are able to truly enjoy yourselves and have litte side-effects to deal with; that your spirits are lifted and you're ready to rock the next phase of this journey and that you have whatever you need in this fight.

    Lifting you up

  9. Kendall, Tammy and Daryl,
Wish I could be there today watching ya'll
enjoy each other as family. I know there will
be a lot of love and laughter spread around
with one another. Kendall, I was looking
at the last picture of you on the pics Daryl
took and thought how beautiful you are in
beauty and spirit. Knowing about your softball
career and vollyball, it takes a very strong,
discipline, and determine young woman to make
all of this come to fruition. As you continue
on this journey, God will continue to keep
you strong and determine with each step.
We continue our prayers for you daily and
hope the happiness from the weekend will build
your spirits for the coming weeks as I know
your Mom and Dad are elated to see everyone.
    We love you ,
    Gloria and Steve

  12. Thanks Kendall for the sweet text this morning. I am fine now that he is with you and the family I just worried about him flying by himself. But he did good and all is well. I hope they make you laugh and fill you with warmth and happiness that will continue even after they leave. Hope you like the pillowcase and blanket and the other gifts that he brought. Make sure to pin that prayer cloth on the pillow you sleep with, my friend said she truly believes the anoited and prayed over cloth brought her 2 special healings from God. So it will for you too. Enjoy the weekend, know I wished I was there but you should feel all the warm thoughts and special prayers all around you. Talk to you later this afternoon knowing me a whole lot this weekend.

I got my bracelet too. Not taking it off til you are completely healed.
    With love and prayers,
    Ms Patti

    My sweet Kendall,
As I sit here this afteroon reading the blog for today and the comments, I am happy in heart to know you are surrounded by some of your friends and family who were able to make the trek to Texas for this weekend. Laugh a lot, get lots of hugs, and don't forget to rest some too!

    My sweet Daryl,
Happy Birthday to you my awesome son! I know I spoke with you in person earlier today, but I wanted to say it again! I'm so pround of you and wish I was there to give you a big hug! You have done such a wonderful job with the blog updates, keeping "real" the daily upds and downs of this whole ordeal in the hearts and minds of so many of us. Thank you for your perspective, and I know it has helped Kendall and you and Tammy and all of us to realize what a mighty and caring God we have, and helped us to focus on just Who is in charge.

    My sweet Tammy,
You have shown us all an unspoken stregth and spirit and determination. I pray for your continued resilence to forge through each day's battles, supporting and lifting up all of your family.

I know the visitors you all have this weekend are bound to lift all of your spirits! I pray Kendall continues to feel the warmth, love and blessings all of us are sending her way and for her continued healing. We miss all of you and hope to see you soon.

Love you all bunches and bunches,
    Granny Lyn and Pawpaw Ed

  15. Hey babe,
I was so relieved this evening when I heard your up lifting voice. God answered another prayer. He blessed you with a good night rest and the nausea is better, just in time for you to enjoy your visitors. May He continue to give you strength, courage and peace that He is with you every minute of the day. You are our one of our four blessings and we thank God every day. Remember your Dad and I love you so very much. We must also remember to be thankful for all the support from our friends and family that continue to donate to your fund (team kendall). With each day do not forget to be still and know God is with you. Until tomorrow God speed!
Love you with all our heart and soul
