Fever comes and fever goes. Well, we did not have to go to the emergency room today. Kendall's fever dropped about 3:00am this morning. Although it did go up and down all day but never reach the bad temperature. She was a little more upbeat today. We tried to get her to do something to get her moving around a little bit. So the girls went to get a pedicure. Tammy said Kendall had a good time. I did not go, I let that be a girls day out. They all came back feeling refreshed and smiling. That was our only outing for the day. Kendall's temperature starting to rise again so we made it watching tv and resting in the apartment. We managed to drop the temperature one more time and it hasn't been back. Let's hope it stays away.
It seemed like any show we watched today was dealing with some type of cancer. I don't know if it is that we are more aware of it now or what. Some times we can watch them and other times we change the channel. This far into her treatment and I still have tears pouring out of my eyes when I think about what is going on with her. How much it has affected her, our family, our friends. I'm supposed to be tough. Doesn't take much to bring me to my knees. I look around my new, temporary housing and I do mean temporary, and see so many people dealing with the same issues that I today deal with. How do they do it every day. How can I do it every day. I am beginning to realize your life is what you make of it and the choices that you make....now. The choices made now will forever change my life. I just pray that they are the right choices. The choices that will give me the strength to care for my family and keep us together.
I've been working on some new pictures to post. These pictures are very hard for me to post but Kendall wanted me to post them. She has so much courage and strength in herself and her faith that I feel like she also wants to share with you. Her smile is the only contagious thing about her. When you look at these pictures you will see the smile of angel. So bright that it would light up Gardendale and beyond.

Absolutely gorgeous!!! Every picture speaks of love and joy. Joy may not seem appropriate, but you can see Jesus in every smile of every person in every picture. Only Jesus can bring joy in every circumstance. What an heroic example you all are. God Bless you in extra measure today.

Shame on me! I've looked up bunches of strong woman quotes, but nothing about strong men. So this one is especially for Daryl. Strong means so many things...its physical, mental, emotional and spiritual, plus some other stuff wrapped up in a neat little package. It packs a wallop in the character department and everybody desires it.
When I think of Daryl and strength, of course his job and service to the community comes to mind. He puts himself out there day after day to protect and serve, to help others and to keep peace. That's a special kind of strength.
Then...I think about what he's going through now. That's maybe a kind of strength none of us want, or at least want to experience. None of you asked for this, but just look at what you've done so far...in just under two months, lives of countless others have been influenced, changed. I heard a song this morning and really liked it. I don't know the name of it yet and at the time didn't connect it with you guys, but after reading the blog it immediately jumped back into my head. It said something like...although your world has been shaken, you stand your ground. I've mentionded Kendall Style over the course of the journey...Today we're talking about Daryl Style. And while really thinking this morning about Daryl, he comes gift wrapped with five others who are carving this path along side him.
Prayers today for that continued strength that's just oozing out of you and your family, that it enriches you to follow the path laid before you, that it shines brightly and lights the way for others, that you never take for granted all that has been given to you and that the Lord blesses you in ways you could never imagine.

ReplyDeleteI told you in my post a few weeks ago that BALD IS BEAUTIFUL. Who whould have thought just how beautiful. Your eyes pop out brighter than the sun. I think about you and your fight everyday. You have a great support system behind you. Just think of them as the 8 others on the field with you. When you need that one last strike out to win 1-0 and all you hear is encouragement from all of them. I do have to give extra credit to Chase. He is by your side whenever he can be. Most young guys would have said no thanks to the situation and left. I hope that you and everyone with you get to relax this weekend and enjoy the football games. KEEP SMILING!!
